April Cottage is in the heart of the historic village of Corbridge, approximately three miles from Hadrian’s Wall Trail. The cottage sleeps five, in two large bedrooms. Linen and towels are provided.
The comfortable centrally heated accommodation has a large living room containing two sofas, TV, video and DVD. There are games, books, videos and comprehensive literature on the surrounding area.
The kitchen/diner is fully equipped to comfortably seat six for dinner. There is a cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is also a small supply of tea, coffee, sugar, washing powder and dishwasher tablet. Bread and milk to your taste are provided for your arrival.
Upstairs there are two large bedrooms, the larger including an additional single bed, the second a vanitory unit. A hairdryer is provided. The bathroom has a bidet and an overbath shower, powered directly from the combi boiler.
The small patio garden is completely enclosed.
It has furniture and a barbecue.
The village is well known for its shopping outlets, providing various gift shops and fashion boutiques, a small but comprehensive bookshop, an art shop and antique shops. There are excellent food outlets including a butcher, a fishmonger, a bakery, a greengrocer, two delicatessens, a chemist, a paper shop and a small Co-op supermarket.
There is a twelfth century church and pele tower in the centre of the village and many other features of historical interest.
Corbridge is an ideal centre, with many interesting walks in and around the village, the Roman supply camp of Corstopitum lies less than a mile to the west of the village and it is possible to walk by the river on both sides of the Tyne.
